In the redwood forest, the camps are located six miles west of the Avenue of the Giants on the Mattole Road. They offer a quiet and private alternative to the larger campgrounds. Camps have picnic tables, fire rings, pit toilets, and untreated water. With only five sites available early reservations are recommended. Humboldt Redwoods Sate Park is located on California's northcoast. Take Highway 101 to the Avenue of the Giants, north of the Weott Visitor Center, go west on Mattole Rd., six miles. Register at the Visitor Center.
